The growing state of DDoS attacks

According to Akamai Technology Reports, the second quarter of 2015 saw a record number of DDoS (distributed denial of service) attacks.

The largest DDoS attack measured more than 240 gigabits per second and persisted for more than 13 hours.

The packet rate peaked at 214 million packets per second.

SYN and SSDP (simple service discovery protocol) were the most common DDoS attack vectors.
