Google has launched a new Data Saver (beta) extension for Google Chrome that compresses the web traffic (http only) for a faster web experience and increases security and confidence.
All the internet traffic except https and incognito tabs go through google servers for compression and phishing and malware checks.
The extension gets to work as soon as you install it from the Google Chrome Web Store.
Install this extension to save the bandwidth and load webpages with speed and security.

The DATA SAVER extension for Google Chrome for computers can now be enabled on smart phones also to reduce data usage.
To enable the DATA SAVER extension, simply follow these steps:
1) Touch the Google Chrome menu
2) Tap on Settings
3) Under Advanced go to Bandwidth Management
4) Tap on Reduce Data Usage and turn it ON
