OnePlus confirms credit card hack affecting up to 40k users

If you have recently bought a OnePlus phone form the official oneplus.net website using your card details, Beware!! 

The leading smartphone manufacturer on Friday confirmed in a statement that its website, oneplus.net, was hacked, potentially exposing the detailed credit card information of up to 40,000 customers between mid-November 2017 and January 11, 2018, may be affected.

The technique adopted by hackers to compromise oneplus.net was deploy a malicious script into the payment page code that was compiled to capture and send credit card info while it was being entered directly from the user’s browser. It flaw has now been patched and security reinforced.

Only users who entered credit card information including card number, expiry date and CVV during transaction will be affected. Those using saved credit card details or other modes  of payment will not be affected. 

The company is in contact with potentially affected customers via email.
