Annoying Mobile Security Updates…Don’t Ignore Them!!!

The annoying update messages constantly pinging you and driving you crazy!!

Do you dislike updating your phone as its eats away your mobile internet data!!

Well…. Updates contain code and configuration changes that enhance the performance and security and there are some pretty good reasons to accept the prompts and keep your smart devices up-to-date.

1. Your Apps Might Not Function Properly

Whastaapp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, even the inbuilt apps like calendar and calculator might not perform as expected if not updated regularly. App vendors constantly keep pushing new versions to adapt to the latest technical and security requirements. Overlooking these updates might hamper the proper functioning of your favorite mobile apps (even games)!!

2. Your Phone Might Get Too Slow

Updating your mobile operating system (android or iOS) is the best way to ensure optimum performance. Operating system updates happen less often than the app updates and usually takes longer to update but should not be neglected.

3. Your Phone Might Get Hacked

Each new system upgrade introduces many new security improvements that safeguard your device from vulnerabilities that may lead to your phone compromise. These updates frequently called “patches” that will help protect your phone from hackers. If you don’t upgrade, eventually, your phone won’t be secure from susceptible virus and attacks from the hackers.

If you know or suspect there’s an update available for your Android device but no message pops up or nothing’s showing up when you check for a system update in the device settings, here’s an alternate method to force a check right now.

For Android you can go to Settings > About Phone > System Update to check for available updates.

For iPhone tap Settings > General > Software Update to check for available updates.
