The current state of WordPress vulnerabilities!

WordPress is a free and open-source content management system (CMS) based on PHP and MySQL. It is the undoubted leader in the amongst its competitors including Joomla, Magento, Drupal and Blogger.

This popularity is the result of easy to use interface, templates and plugins. To add on to this, it making a website on WordPress requires a little or no programming knowledge at all.  

WordPress was used by more than 23.3% of the top 10 million websites as of January 2015. WordPress is the most popular blogging system in use on the Web, at more than 60 million websites (Source: Wikipedia).

This open source content management is constantly catching the eyes of cyber criminals and researchers. 45 vulnerabilities have been reported in WordPress in the past three months.
Out of them 16 were reported in the month of August, 23 and 6 in the month of July and June respectively.

16% of these vulnerabilities were of HIGH severity while mostly (73%) scored a MEDIUM.
